Samsung Galaxy A17 5G launched with 5000mAh battery, 50MP triple camera

Samsung has expanded its mid-range smartphone line-up in India with the launch of the Galaxy A17 5G, the successor to the Galaxy A16 5G. The device comes with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, a 50MP triple rear camera system and a 5,000mAh battery.

Powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1330 octa-core processor, the Galaxy A17 5G is available in two variants — one with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage priced at Rs 18,999, and another with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage priced at Rs 20,499. It will be offered in blue, grey and black colour options and can be purchased through Samsung’s official website, select e-commerce platforms and retail stores. The company is also offering an instant discount of Rs 1,000 on transactions made using select bank cards.

The handset features a Full HD+ screen with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. It carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance and supports UHD 4K video playback across multiple formats.

In terms of photography, the Galaxy A17 5G is equipped with a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation, a 5MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro lens. A 13MP front camera is housed for selfies and video calls. The phone measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.5 mm, weighs 192 grams, and is fitted with multiple sensors including a fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyro, geomagnetic sensor, light sensor and virtual proximity sensing.

The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. Samsung has committed to providing six years of security updates along with six major operating system upgrades, strengthening the long-term value proposition of the Galaxy A17 5G.
