Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in July or August 2025, introducing design refinements and exciting new features.

Upcoming Launch

Following the launch of the flagship Galaxy S25 series in January, speculation is already circulating about Samsung’s next major release—its next-generation foldable smartphones. Leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will feature significant upgrades in design, performance, and display technology.

Galaxy Z Fold 7: Design & Display

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumoured to sport a larger 8-inch internal display, an upgrade from the 7.6-inch screen on the Z Fold 6, providing a more immersive viewing experience. Additionally, Samsung aims to make the device slimmer and lighter, with reports indicating that its folded thickness could be comparable to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This would improve portability while maintaining durability.

Performance

Samsung is expected to power the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, the same chipset used in the Galaxy S25 series. However, some reports hint at the possibility of an Exynos 2500 variant. Running on Android 15-based One UI 7, the device is likely to offer the latest software enhancements. As seen with the Galaxy S25 lineup, Samsung may promise long-term software support, potentially spanning 6-7 years.

Variants & Innovation

Reports indicate that Samsung is developing two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, codenamed Q7 and Q7M. While the Q7M variant remains shrouded in mystery, speculation suggests it could be a tri-fold device with two hinges and three screens, potentially introducing a new foldable form factor.

Galaxy Z Flip 7: Design & Display

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to feature a larger 6.85-inch main display along with a 4-inch external screen, enhancing convenience for notifications and widgets.

Performance Upgrades

Samsung plans to equip the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with the Exynos 2500 chipset, aiming to boost performance and energy efficiency.

Affordable Variant: Galaxy Z Flip FE

In an effort to make foldable technology more accessible, Samsung is reportedly working on a budget-friendly model, the Galaxy Z Flip FE. This variant is expected to feature the Exynos 2400e processor, striking a balance between performance and affordability.

Expected Pricing

If rumours hold true, Samsung may retain the pricing of its previous-generation foldables. This would mean the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could start at Rs 1,64,999, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 may begin at Rs 1,09,999.

Launch Event

Both devices are expected to debut at Samsung’s Unpacked event in July or August 2025, in line with the company’s usual release schedule for foldables.
