A 22-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death with a screwdriver during a monetary dispute in northeast Delhi’s Seemapuri area, police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred on Friday night following an altercation between the victim, identified as Nafiz, and his neighbours over a financial transaction.
According to police, the quarrel escalated into violence, during which Nafiz was stabbed in the abdomen. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had a prior dispute with the accused family over money,” a senior officer said.
Five members of the same family have been arrested in connection with the case. The prime accused, 27-year-old Sekh Islam, allegedly delivered the fatal blow. Others involved include his brother Sohal (20), brother-in-law Nazrul alias Nadem (43), mother Salma Begum (55), and sister Mamuni (32).

Muzaffar, the deceased’s brother-in-law, filed the complaint and stated that the victim had a longstanding disagreement with the accused family.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and all five suspects are in police custody, officials said.
