Returning after a warmly received debut, Baarish: Downpour Diaries is the second chapter of the seasonal cultural experience curated by Excurators. The event will take place on July 26 at Travancore Palace, and brings together a unique mix of live music, storytelling, monsoon-inspired food, and multisensory design.

This edition celebrates the peak of the rains with a thoughtfully layered programme. Attendees will be welcomed through a mist-filled immersive installation that sets the tone for an evening soaked in nostalgia and reflection.

The headline musical performance, Rang: The Musical, is a collaborative retelling of the spiritual and poetic bond between Amir Khusrau and Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. Presented by Rehmat-e-Nusrat and historian Eric Chopra of Itihasology, the performance blends qawwali with historical narration to reimagine 13th–14th century Delhi.

A parallel culinary experience, titled Feast on My Leaf, is led by award-winning chef Arun Kumar TR in collaboration with Café Lota. Known for his pioneering work in coastal cuisine, Chef Arun will present flavours rooted in Kerala’s pre-Onam harvest rituals, accompanied by stories from his newly released book of the same name. Complementing this is a monsoon-themed menu curated by Café Lota that highlights seasonal produce and comfort flavours.

The evening will conclude with a special musical tribute to the late Mangey Khan of the Barmer Boys. The folk group will reunite for the first time since his passing and perform alongside the Baarish Ensemble—a collaborative act blending folk, classical, and contemporary elements.

“Each Baarish is a one-of-a-kind cultural moment,” says Minhal Hasan, Managing Director and Founder of Excurators. “We imagine it as a celebration of the rains through music, food, and shared storytelling—a platform for voices both emerging and rooted in tradition.”

Created in collaboration with WIP Labs and other independent artists, Baarish Chapter 2 offers a rich and layered experience that invites Delhi’s cultural community to pause, gather, and revel in the monsoon.
