A 27-year-old female patient was allegedly subjected to inappropriate touching and confined to a washroom by a nursing staff member at Delhi Cantonment Board Hospital in southwest Delhi, police said.
The incident occurred on Wednesday while the woman was under observation in the ICU, according to authorities.
During her time in the ICU, a nursing staff member on night duty reportedly engaged in inappropriate behaviour with her in a washroom and then locked her inside, an officer said.
The incident took place at 1:30 am when the patient’s attendant was not present, the officer added.
Upon informing her husband about the staff member’s misconduct, the woman called the police for assistance.
The victim received counseling, and a case has been registered under the appropriate section, the officer confirmed.
Police said that after the police received a complaint from the woman, a case was lodged under molestation charges and the accused, identified as Kuldeep, was arrested.( With inputs from PTI)
