Two days after Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had claimed that he received messages from a BJP member asking him to leave AAP and join BJP, he has claimed that BJP is now targeting other AAP members. Attesting Sisodia’s claim, AAP’s national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said in a press conference that four MLAs — Ajay Dutt, Sanjeev Jha, Somnath Bharati and Kuldeep Kumar were offered Rs 20 crore each to leave AAP and join the BJP. The four MLAs share “friendly relations with BJP.
Singh added that BJP also offered Rs 25 crore to the MLAs if they bring other party members with them, and if they don’t leave AAP, they too will have to face false cases, the ED and CBI, just like Sisodia did.
In a tweet Sisodia sent out on Wednesday, Sisodia stated that after BJP failed to “break him”, it started offering Rs 20 crores to other AAP MLAs by threatening them with more raids. Warning the BJP, he added that the AAP members are soldiers of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and followers of Bhagat Singh, who will sacrifice their lives but not betray their men.
The tweet that was published in Hindi said: “They failed to break me. So, now they are offering Rs 20 crores to other AAP MLAs and threatening them with raids to break them. BJP should take care. These people are soldiers of Arvind Kejriwal and followers of Bhagat Singh. They will sacrifice their lives but will not betray. Your ED CBI is of no use in front of them.”
Responding to Sisodia’s tweet, Kejriwal has stated that the matter is quite serious. “To take a stock of the situation and chalk out further strategy, a meeting of our party’s Political Affairs Committee has been called at my residence today at 4 pm”, he said in a tweet.
Singh has stated that the BJP tried to do the same thing in Maharashtra, where they broke the Shiv Sena by making Eknath Shinde and co. leave the party and join BJP, eventually transferring the government from the Maha Vikas Aghadi to the BJP. “But they failed to do the same with Manish Sidodia and other AAP members”, Singh added.
