CBSE results: Delhi govt schools outshine private ones

Government schools in Delhi have outperformed private institutions in the Class 12 CBSE examinations this year, while the reverse was true for Class 10, where private schools secured better results.

As per data released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), government schools in the capital achieved a pass percentage of 96.11% in the East zone and 98.10% in the West zone for Class 12. In contrast, private schools registered lower pass percentages of 93.85% and 92.29% in the East and West zones, respectively.

However, in the Class 10 results, private schools led with a pass rate of 97.25% in the East zone and 95.25% in the West, while government schools recorded 93.49% and 96.57% in the same zones.

Central government-run institutions performed exceptionally well. Kendriya Vidyalayas posted pass percentages of 99.88% in the East and 99.34% in the West, while Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas achieved a perfect 100% success rate in both zones.

Girls continued to outperform boys across the board. The combined pass percentage for girls in Classes 10 and 12 stood at 95%, compared to 93.76% for boys in Class 12 and 93.98% in Class 10. Girls recorded a pass rate of 96.71% in Class 12 and 95.71% in Class 10.

The CBSE announced the results on Tuesday. Delhi’s overall pass percentage was 95.18% for Class 12 and 95.14% for Class 10.

There were minor discrepancies in regional data. One set showed East Delhi with a pass percentage of 95.6% and West Delhi at 95.7%, while another placed West Delhi at 95.24% and East Delhi at 95.07%.
