Cloudy skies, light rain likely in Delhi

Delhi woke up to cloudy skies on Thursday, with the minimum temperature settling at 25.2 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department.

The weather office has forecast generally cloudy skies, with light rain or drizzle at isolated places through the day.

Station-wise data showed that the minimum temperature was 23 degrees Celsius at Palam, 24.7 degrees at Lodi Road, 20.6 degrees Celsius at The Ridge, while Ayanagar recorded a low of 24.8 degrees Celsius.

The relative humidity was 60 per cent in the morning. According to the IMD, the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 35 degrees Celsius on Thursday.

Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) stood at 105 at 9.30 am, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Under the CPCB’s AQI scale, a reading of 0-50 is considered ‘good’, 51-100 ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 ‘moderate’, 201-300 ‘poor’, 301-400 ‘very poor’ and 401-500 ‘severe’.
