Couple found dead in hotel in Delhi

The bodies of a young couple, identified as Sohrab (28) and Ayesha (27), were discovered at a hotel near the Maujpur metro station in northeast Delhi on Friday, as confirmed bypolice.

Sohrab’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan, and Ayesha was found dead on the bed in an OYO room, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey.

According to Tirkey, the couple had checked into the hotel at 1:02 pm, and they did not respond to hotel staff when approached at around 7:45 pm.

A suicide note written in Hindi was found on the bed next to Ayesha, claiming that they were in love and had decided to end their lives together, the official stated.

Further investigation into the incident is currently underway, DCP said. (With inputs from PTI)
