Delhi man arrested for killing father over his alcohol addiction

The Delhi Police Thursday arrested a man for allegedly killing his father by slitting his throat in West Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh over his alcohol addiction which was causing trouble for the family.

An official said that they received information from Paschim Vihar Shamshan Ghat from cremation ground incharge Sanjeev Chauhan that one Rinku Yadav had come to cremate his father Satish Yadav.

During the cremation, a sharp cut mark on the neck and forearm was noticed by someone, who alerted the priest, said police.

They said that the priest questioned Yadav, but received no satisfactory response, leading him to inform the police.

They added that following persistent interrogation, Rinku confessed to killing his father, Satish Yadav, citing his habitual drinking and the problems it caused the family.

The police have registered a case and arrested the suspect, said police. (With inputs from PTI)
