Delhi Weather: Adverse weather conditions caused over 100 flight delays at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on Sunday, as dense fog continued to disrupt operations for the third consecutive day.
Flight Operations Under Low Visibility Procedures
An official confirmed that no flight cancellations or diversions have occurred so far. However, the ongoing dense fog has necessitated Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) at the airport. “Low Visibility Procedures are still in progress at Delhi Airport. There has been no impact on flight operations,” Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) stated in a post on X at 8:45 am. Passengers were advised to contact their respective airlines for updated flight information.

Airlines Seek to Minimise Passenger Disruption
IndiGo apologised for the inconvenience and encouraged passengers to check its website or app for alternate flight options. Despite the delays, efforts are being made to minimise disruption and maintain operational continuity during the challenging weather conditions.
The persistent fog in the region continues to test airport operations, with authorities working to manage delays and ensure passenger safety.
However, for the third consecutive morning, Delhi was shrouded in a dense layer of fog, disrupting travel and delaying 51 trains, officials reported on Sunday.
