Four killed as truck crashes into vehicle in outer Delhi

Two trucks collided head-on during the early hours of Thursday, resulting in the unfortunate death of four kanwariyas and leaving 15 individuals injured, according to local authorities. The police received a distress call regarding the accident at 12:44 am.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North), Ravi Kumar Singh, provided details about the collision. He mentioned that a truck with a Haryana registration had crossed the central divider of GT Karnal road, crashing into another truck carrying devotees of Lord Shiva known as kanwariyas.

 

Tragically, four pilgrims lost their lives instantly at the accident site, while 15 others sustained injuries of varying degrees. The injured individuals were promptly provided medical attention.

In response to the incident, the police have taken action by registering a case under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death due to negligence) at the Alipur police station. The investigation into the matter is currently underway.

The collision has brought immense sorrow and distress, as the loss of lives and injuries have deeply affected the kanwariya community and their families. The local authorities are working diligently to ensure a thorough investigation and appropriate action against those responsible for the accident. (With inputs from PTI)
