The Delhi government plans to equip all industrial areas of the national capital with world-class infrastructure, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Monday.
Gupta laid the foundation stone for a road and drainage project worth Rs 75.40 crore in A Block of the Wazirpur Industrial Area.
“Delhi government’s objective is to transform all industrial areas in the capital into modern, clean and safe zones equipped with world-class facilities,” Gupta said.
Better roads, an efficient drainage system and well-planned infrastructure will not only enhance industrial productivity but also create new opportunities for investment and employment, she added.
Under the project, around 5.77 km of roads in the Wazirpur area will be redeveloped, while an 11.54 km stormwater drainage network will be constructed and upgraded.
The initiative is expected to help reduce waterlogging and improve basic infrastructure in the area. The project will be executed by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC).
