In a crackdown on prostitution rackets being run under the guise of wellness services, a joint team of Gurugram Police and the Chief Minister’s Flying Squad has raided a spa in Sector 19 and arrested 13 persons for their alleged involvement in illegal sex work, officials said on Wednesday.

The raid at Ras Wellness Spa, based on a tip-off, led to the arrests of four owners, two managers and seven customers, police said.

According to police, a special team was formed for the raid on Tuesday night. As part of the plan, Manoj Kumar, a sub-inspector, was sent to the spa as a decoy customer.

When police reached the spot, Kumar was in a room with a Thai woman. Two unused condoms and Rs 5,000 in cash were found in the woman’s bag, while around Rs 14,000 was seized from the spa counter, along with three point-of-sale machines, two registers, and 28 tokens, police said.
