
Delhi witnessed light rain on Tuesday morning, with the weather office forecasting thunderstorm accompanied by more rain later in the day.
The 24-hour cumulative rainfall till 8:30 am stood at 0.4 mm at Safdarjung, 1.4 mm at Palam, 1.0 mm at Lodi Road, trace at Ridge and 3.0 mm at Ayanagar.
The minimum temperatures was recorded at 20.1 degrees Celsius, 0.1 notches above normal, in Safdarjung, while Palam recorded 19.6 degrees Celsius, 0.4 notches below normal.
Lodhi Road recorded 18.6 degrees Celsius, 0.4 notches below normal, Ridge 17.2 degrees Celsius, 2.9 notches below normal; and Ayanagar 18.1 degrees Celsius, 0.8 notches below normal.
The air quality index (AQI) at 9 am stood at 111, which falls in the ‘moderate’ category.
As per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) standards, an AQI of 0-50 is considered ‘good’, 51-100 ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 ‘moderate’, 201-300 ‘poor’, 301-400 ‘very poor’, and 401-500 ‘severe’.
