A 40-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death while driving his car in east Delhi’s Krishna Nagar area, with police ruling out robbery as the motive in the initial stages of the investigation, an officer said on Friday.
Vijay Kumar, a resident of West Vinod Nagar, was declared brought dead after being taken to Dr Hedgewar Hospital on Thursday night, police said.
A PCR call was received around 9 pm informing that man had been stabbed on the main road in Krishna Nagar. A police team rushed to the spot and found the victim’s car abandoned on the roadside. By then, locals had shifted the injured man to the hospital, they said.
A case of murder has been registered and the body has been sent for post-mortem, a senior police officer said.
Forensic and crime teams examined the scene, while police are scanning CCTV footage and questioning witnesses to identify the assailant.
“No robbery angle has surfaced during the initial stage of investigation,” a police officer said.
