Rain likely in city, air quality satisfactory

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 23.8 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, with the weather department forecasting thunderstorm along with rain.

Safdarjung recorded 3 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours till 8.30 AM.

Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 22.3 degrees Celsius, 5.5 degrees below normal, while Lodhi Road registered 22.6 degrees Celsius, 5.4 degrees below normal.

Ridge recorded 22 degrees Celsius, 4.8 degrees below normal, and Ayanagar logged 22.2 degrees Celsius, 3.7 degrees below normal.

The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 34 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The weather activity is expected to persist over the next two days, with the IMD forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rain across the region.

Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 81 in the ‘satisfactory’ category at 9 am, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

According to the CPCB, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 and 500 ‘severe’.
