The city woke up to a pleasant Friday with the minimum temperature settling at 25.6°C, as the weather department forecast thunderstorms and light rain later in the day. The relative humidity was recorded at 81 per cent at 8.30 am, contributing to the sticky conditions.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 30°C.
Rain swept through several parts of the capital on Thursday morning, bringing some relief from the heat but adding to the humidity. Evening humidity levels remained high, reaching 67 per cent at 5.30 pm.
The IMD has predicted thunderstorms with lightning and light to moderate rain through Friday night as well.
