Elaborate security arrangements were put in place across the national capital on Sunday for the NEET-UG re-examination, with police deploying additional personnel at examination centres to ensure the test is conducted smoothly, officials said.
Senior police officers said security has been intensified around all examination venues, with strict checks being carried out at entry points.
Adequate police deployment, traffic regulation measures and crowd management arrangements have been made to prevent any untoward incident and maintain law and order, they said.
The Delhi government has also made special arrangements for candidates and their families at all 97 examination centres across the city. Special cooling zones equipped with seating facilities, drinking water, ORS, shikanji and first-aid support have been set up outside the centres to help students and guardians cope with the prevailing heat.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had announced that all NEET candidates would be allowed free travel on DTC buses on Sunday upon showing their admit cards. She said the arrangements were aimed at ensuring that no family faces unnecessary difficulties related to transportation, heat or long waiting hours on the day of the examination.
Free drinking water and refreshments were also arranged for parents and guardians waiting outside examination centres, officials added.
