In the Shahbad Dairy murder case, the custodial interrogation of the accused was extended for three days by a court on Thursday. Due to security concerns, the accused, Sahil (20), was presented at the residence of the duty metropolitan magistrate, according to court sources.
The crime involved Sahil brutally attacking 16-year-old Sakshi in public view in the Shahbad Dairy area of northwest Delhi.
He stabbed her over 20 times and bludgeoned her to death with a concrete block. The police reported that Sakshi had 34 injury marks on her body and her skull was severely damaged.
Sahil was apprehended in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, and brought to the national capital on Monday evening. On Tuesday, Duty Metropolitan Magistrate Jyoti Nain granted the police permission to interrogate Sahil in custody for two days.
The police had requested his custody on the grounds that the murder weapon had not been recovered and that Sahil had been providing inconsistent statements. (With inputs from PTI)
