A tragic incident has occurred in Madhu Vihar, East Delhi where an 18-year-old girl allegedly jumped from the third floor of her building resulting in her death. She was studying in 11th class.

According to a senior police officer, the deceased had reportedly been in a relationship with a boy from her class, which her parents disapproved of. This may have led her to take this extreme step.

He said that the police have inspected the scene of the incident with the help of forensic experts, and the statements of a few neighbors were recorded during the investigation.

He added that all of them confirmed that the girl had indeed jumped from the third floor.

He further added that the body has been preserved at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, and an autopsy is scheduled for today.

The girl’s father runs a private business, and inquest proceedings have also been initiated by the police, said the police officer.

This incident has left the community in a state of shock and mourning. (With inputs from PTI)
