Haryana’s Chief Electoral Officer, Anurag Agarwal, has revealed that the Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency boasts the highest voter count in the state, with over 25 lakh eligible voters.

Of the 25,46,916 voters in Gurugram, 13,47,521 are male, 11,99,317 are female, and 78 are transgender individuals. Meanwhile, the Faridabad Lok Sabha constituency hosts 24,14,168 voters, comprising 13,10,206 males, 11,03,844 females, and 118 transgender individuals.

All 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana are scheduled for polling on May 25, with the counting set for June 4. The election notification will be issued on April 29, nominations accepted until May 6, scrutiny on May 7, and withdrawal by May 9.

During the 2019 LS polls, Haryana witnessed a 70.36% voter turnout, aiming for a rise to 75% this time, as stated by the Haryana CEO. Innovative initiatives like the Voter in Queue app and personalized polling invitations, akin to wedding invitations, have been launched to boost participation. Additionally, 31 polling booths will be set up in multi-storey societies in Gurugram.

Across the state, there are 1,99,81,982 eligible voters across 10 Lok Sabha constituencies. Among other constituencies, Ambala has 10,51,443 male voters, 9,35,635 female voters, and 76 transgender voters. Similarly, in Kurukshetra, there are 9,38,029 male voters, 8,50,439 female voters, and 23 transgender voters, while Sirsa hosts 10,20,510 male voters, 9,11,339 female voters, and 41 transgender voters.

Provisions have been made to address the hot weather, with Deputy Commissioners-cum-District Electoral Officers instructed to ensure additional resources at polling centers, including cold water, coolers-fans, and tents. Special arrangements will be made for voters over 85 years old and persons with disabilities, including wheelchairs and shaded areas.
