
Delhi experienced poor air quality on Tuesday, with a recorded minimum temperature of 16.1 degrees Celsius, slightly below normal. The weather office predicts mainly clear skies.
On Monday, the city’s air quality index (AQI) averaged 263, with a minimum temperature of 17.2 degrees Celsius and 82% relative humidity at 8:30 am, India Meteorological Department said.
At 11 am, Delhi’s AQI was 220 according to CPCB data. The capital’s 24-hour average AQI was 313 on Sunday, worsening from 248 on Saturday. The last “very poor” air quality was recorded on May 17, with an AQI of 336.
The AQI scale categorizes 0-50 as good, 51-100 as satisfactory, 101-200 as moderate, 201-300 as poor, 301-400 as very poor, and 401-500 as severe.
An AQI above 500 falls into the severe plus category. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 32 degrees Celsius.(With inputs from PTI)
