Music in the moonlight

What: Indulge yourself in an enchanting evening of music this weekend. Teamwork Arts presents a special concert, ‘Under the Banyan Tree on a Full Moon Night’ which will showcase traditional classical and folk music. The artist will be performing under the banyan tree with the minarets of the Qutub Minar in the background. The audience will watch the performance in a baithak style under the moonlight and will get the opportunity to engage with the musicians as well. Rajasthani stalwart, Anwar Khan Manganiyar, classical vocalist, Vidhi Sharma and sarangi player, Ahsan ALI will be the performers of the night.

Fan Fair

What: Travelling across the Indian subcontinent for over four decades, contemporary artist Jatin Das will be exhibiting a collection of traditional fans, ‘pankha’. Take a look at these hand-crafted fans and learns about the variety of sizes, shapes and materials used for making them.

Ramzaan Dastarkhwan
What: Enjoy this festive
month of Ramzan, by taking a journey through the  enthralling experience of Old Delhi and its celebration of Ramzan. Chakor Lakeerein is organisinga heritage walk around Jama Masjid, where one can learn about the stories, history and practises attached to the celebration. Along
with this, relish the mouth-watering delicacies of Ramzan during the Iftaar party.

What: What better way to cool down this summer than pool parties? Even better when you can enjoy it with your furry friends. Puppychino brings to you a day full of fun, food and lots of splashing. Beat the heat with your dogs in the water this Sunday morning.

Jazz with a twist

What: Here is the chance to enjoy a unique experiment: a fusion of Bollywood music and jazz. Bollyjazz brings to you a refreshing concept of playing songs of Indian cinema from the 50s and 60s through jazz tunes and rhythms, while maintaining the original melodies. Several musicians will come together to collaborate and create this unique music.

Story of existence

What: A timeless story of man’s struggle to survive, ‘Baki Itihaas’, is being presented Saitan Theatre Group. Written by Badal Sircar, it explores the duality of human minds and the futulity of their existence. It portrays hopelessness, despair and violence which is fuelled by the endless lust for power.
When: May 26 (5:30 – 6:30pm)
