Bharat Tex 2026 opens in Delhi with 1,600 exhibitors, 7,000 global buyers

Bharat Tex 2026, India’s largest global textiles exhibition, opened at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital on Tuesday, bringing together more than 1,600 exhibitors, over 7,000 buyers and delegates from more than 20 countries.

The four-day event, which runs till July 17, is being organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation — a consortium of textile export promotion councils and industry bodies — with the support of the Ministry of Textiles.

Organisers said the exhibition showcases the entire textile value chain, including fibre, yarn, fabric, apparel, home textiles, technical textiles and allied industries. More than 20,000 textile products are on display across 1.6 million square feet of exhibition space.

The event is expected to attract around 1.3 lakh trade visitors and facilitate more than 4,000 business-to-business (B2B) meetings, over 100 business-to-government (B2G) interactions and the signing of more than 30 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in areas such as trade, technology, sustainability and investment.

Eight states — Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu — are participating as partner states, while Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Manipur, Rajasthan and West Bengal are also showcasing their textile sectors.

Dedicated State Investor Connect sessions have been scheduled to present investment opportunities, industrial infrastructure and policy support offered by participating states. Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh are also hosting sessions linked to the PM MITRA textile parks initiative.

International exhibitors from 14 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Portugal, Spain, New Zealand, South Korea, South Africa and Nepal, are participating. The event has also drawn institutional representation from the United Nations and the European Union.

More than 350 speakers from over 20 countries, including policymakers, industry leaders, business executives and experts, are expected to participate in discussions during the event. Organisers said ministerial delegations from New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Cambodia and Brunei have also shown interest in attending.

The programme includes more than 100 knowledge sessions covering sustainability, global trade, technical textiles, innovation, Industry 5.0, fashion, policy and export competitiveness, with a focus on supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The exhibition is also hosting the CITI Textile Sustainability Awards 2026, recognising achievements in resource efficiency, circular economy, sustainable materials, social responsibility and responsible business practices.

To facilitate business interactions, organisers have introduced digital tools, including a mobile application and a pre-fair directory, enabling exhibitor discovery, buyer-seller matchmaking, meeting scheduling and digital lead management.

Speaking at the event, Bharat Tex Trade Federation Chairman Naren Goenka said the 2026 edition was the largest so far, bringing together exhibitors, buyers and delegates from across the world.

Co-chairman Bhadresh Dodhia said the event had been designed to translate business discussions into commercial partnerships through structured meetings and investment engagements.

India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML) Chairman Rakesh Kumar said Bharat Tex 2026 would serve the entire textile ecosystem, from large exporters to MSMEs, through business networking, investment sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
