Bikaner House will present Decoding Digital DNA, a solo exhibition by contemporary artist Mukesh Sharma, curated by Archana Khare-Ghose, from December 18 to 23. The exhibition will be on view at the Main Art Gallery, Bikaner House.
In this new body of work, Sharma explores the shifting life of technology—from tool to organism, from object to presence—by reimagining digital components as living material. Using keyboards, chips, wires and circuit structures, he constructs immersive ecosystems where circuitry becomes organism, data assumes the role of memory, and digital matter evolves into a biological extension of human identity.
“Technology today is not merely something we use; it is something that grows with us, shapes us, and alters our behaviour,” says Sharma. “In Decoding Digital DNA, I treat digital material as a living entity, one that records our actions, desires and patterns, becoming a new layer of our shared existence.”
Curator Archana Khare-Ghose situates the exhibition within conversations on ecology, materiality and post-human futures. “Sharma’s practice bridges technological culture and environmental consciousness,” she notes. “His works transform discarded digital components into an ecological language of art, prompting us to rethink the lifecycle and afterlife of the materials that define contemporary life.”
The exhibition features a large-scale sculptural installation spanning the gallery, alongside works created from whole and fragmented keyboards and other digital components.
