The Rising Gardens Film Festival began in January 2021 as an online festival of documentaries, short fiction, community videos and animations around women, nature, environment and agriculture. The festival is being organised and hosted on the Kriti Film Club online portal www.doculive.in and is jointly organised with Sangat to mark the One Billion Rising (OBR) South Asia Campaign. The festival has been curated by Reena Mohan, a well-known filmmaker. The Earth Day theme includes 10 films from four countries focusing on women and solidarities.
