Three masters
What: Sporting a collection of fresh canvases that dazzle with the brilliance of colour applications, triggering liberating moods and definable strokes, here’s an exhibition that brings together the works of three formidable artists. Titled ‘Tres Maestros’, it features the works of Niren Sengupta, Nupur Kundu and Niladri Pal. Not a rehash of old works by these artists, the artworks from these palettes has another plus point in their large size formats, which allows viewers to enjoy the detailing and also examine at first hand the representative techniques of these senior artists. Bearing a strong narrative, the paintings are pictorial and perspective-ridden, knitting them into a holistic yet distinct arrangement.

Music in the moonlight
What: Immerse yourself in a specially crafted evening of music with the fourth season of ‘Under the Banyan Tree on a Full Moon Night’. The July edition will celebrate the mystic music, timeless spirit and historic melodies of Varanasi. With performers who have been raised in the tradition of the world’s oldest city, this month’s concert will bring the allure of Varanasi to the heart of New Delhi. The first performer of the evening, Kumar Sarang is a santoor player who belongs to the Varanasi and Maihar musical gharanas. This will be followed by the performance of folk singer, Malini Awasthi. Soak in the true spirit of Varanasi with delectable cuisine, the perfect accompaniment to the rich, traditional music on offer. Straight from the ghats, the evening will serve up some fresh chaat, soothing thandai and other mouth-watering treats to give you a taste of Varanasi. Audiences get the chance to witness performances by musicians under the tranquil repose of a banyan tree with minarets of the iconic Qutub Minar as the backdrop.

Breaking free
What: Artist Sujata Kar Saha has charted a new course in discovering landscapes of rare variety and entwining them with various moods and emotions, intensely, with superb finesse. Her works are on display at her seventh solo exhibition titled ‘Shifting Expression’. To express herself, she has chosen to be more carefree, spontaneous with both colours and form. The strokes are free with no lines to constrict them, yet one can feel the lines as well as their edges.
