Plot twist

What:  An apt take on complicated relationships, Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts is all set to stage the acclaimed ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’ by Joseph Kesselring. Directed by Nayana Sagar, the play is a farcical black comedy revolving around the D’Silva family of Vasai who were the original settlers of this suburb, but now strangely composed of insane homicidal maniacs. Two old ladies belonging to the D’Silva family, are in the queer habit of killing old, lonely men who arrive at their doorstep looking for rental accommodation by tipping a pinch of arsenic into their red wine. Accompanied by two maniacal nephews who joins them, the only sane member of this family is Bobby D’Silva, who is left to deal with the impossible eccentricities of every member in his family. Drop in to check how Bobby deals with so many crazy members in his family without losing his sanity.

Diverse yet united

What: In an attempt to bring love, happiness, satisfaction and gratitude to the mundane, monotonous life – Inner Konnect Art (an art project initiative) was formed. Curating an exhibition — ‘Collectively Independent’ is a show to incorporate different independent individual artists, with different ideas, different style of work, different perspectives and a different viewpoint. It gives voice to the artists to convey their thoughts to the audience, in order to bring art into their lives and to bring artists closer to art lovers. The show is to prove that being collective as a group yet independent in their approach, they can work together in a progressive society and contribute to making it better for all.

Ode to Krishna

What: Presenting a mesmerising dance-drama of Krishna, Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra’s 43rd edition of ‘Krishna’ depicts his fascinating life abounding with legends, myths, miracles and adulation, over a span of 3,000 years. Produced and directed by Shobha Deepak Singh, the dance drama portrays the fascinating journey of the playful icon from his adorable childhood and youthful antics, to the centrestage of human reverence. To enhance the visual appeal of the show, the Kendra is using a LED wall for the first time.
