A solo exhibition titled Lyrical Landscapes: Watercolours by Bikash Poddar is currently on view at Gallerie Ganesha, E-557, Greater Kailash II. The exhibition opened on April 4 and will continue until May 7. Visitors are welcome daily between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
The exhibition showcases the delicate and evocative watercolours of Bikash Poddar, a renowned artist from Bengal whose work captures the quiet beauty of rural India. His landscapes—featuring ruined temples, riverside boats, and rustic dwellings—are infused with a sense of stillness and nostalgia.
Poddar, born in 1954 in North Bengal, is known for blending the intricate detailing of Indian miniature painting with the fluid brushwork of East Asian calligraphy. His signature use of the wash technique—painting on wet paper—creates soft, dreamlike visuals with remarkable architectural precision.
Through his works, the artist invites viewers into a world where nature and human presence exist in harmony. Each piece in Lyrical Landscapes reflects Poddar’s deep connection to his roots and his mastery of his medium.
