Palam 360 Khap has warned of a demonstration outside the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and to encircle the offices of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs if their grievances remain unaddressed prior to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The ‘mahapanchayat,’ convened at Jantar Mantar on Sunday, served as the platform for members to articulate a series of demands. These included employment opportunities for villagers, allocation of plots to enhance self-sufficiency, and relief from various taxes and fees, encompassing house tax, conversion charges, and parking fees.

The primary focus of the ‘mahapanchayat’ was to deliberate on the rights of villagers, the imposition of different taxes, and the prevailing regulations, notably house tax and building bye-laws, in the villages surrounding Delhi.

Surendra Solanki, the head of Palam 360 Khap, asserted during the ‘mahapanchayat’ that if their demands are not met prior to the Lok Sabha elections, the subsequent assembly will be staged outside Chief Minister Kejriwal’s residence. He further issued a threat to ‘gherao’ the offices of AAP MLAs.

Among the key demands put forth by the khap were exemption from building bye-laws, the revision of a land pooling policy that is farmer-friendly, and the notification of Master Plan 2041.

Solanki disclosed that the khap has engaged in discussions with Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena regarding their demands and has also communicated with BJP leaders concerning issues pertinent to the central government. He accused the Delhi government of neglecting their demands, underscoring the urgency for attention and resolution.
