The event is open to both men and women and will include a chip-timed half marathon, ten kilometers, five kilometers, and a three-kilometer fun run
The Universal Runners Marathon, along with The Earth Saviours, will organise the fifth edition of the Dwarka Half marathon on August 6.
The ‘Run For Honk Free Dwarka’ is to raise awareness about the harmful impacts of noise pollution and encourage responsible and limited use of car horns in order to achieve a peaceful and honk-free environment in Dwarka.
Excessive noise levels are well known to have a harmful impact on human cardiovascular health. Noise can increase the risk of mortality in animals by interfering with their capacity to detect predators or prey, obstructing reproduction and navigation, and causing irreversible hearing damage.
Based on the World Health Organization’s findings, children are particularly susceptible to the detrimental effects of noise, which could have lasting consequences. Noise presents a significant risk to both the physical and psychological well-being of children, potentially impeding their learning abilities and disrupting their behavior in negative ways.
The event is open to both men and women and will include a chip-timed half marathon, ten kilometers, five kilometers, and a three-kilometer fun run. Every participant will receive a water station, an energy drink, and first aid each two kilometer start and finish point.
Trophy winners receive energy drinks and refreshments. Following the completion of the run, an online Timing Certificate and Race Result will be accessible on the internet within two days of the event date and may be used to qualify for all major marathons in the nation.
