Very Small Feelings

The exhibition is staged through known and forgotten tales, popular characters, cartoons and narratives that are deeply embedded in one’s consciousness and core memory.

The exhibition seeks to encounter the eternal inner child in us and bind us strongly to it.

Curated by Akansha Rastogi of the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, ‘Very Small Feelings’ brings together 42 projects ranging from new commissions, historical works, performances, books, personal and institutional archives, artist’s creative prompts turned into installations, and many landscapes.

Along with Rastogi, the exhibition is put together by Diana Campbell (Artistic Director, Samdani Art Foundation) with Ruxmini Choudhury, Avik Debdas and Swati Kumari. It is co-produced by Kiran Nadar Museum of Art and Samdani Art Foundation.

The first iteration of the exhibition was organised at the Dhaka Art Summit (3 to 11 February 2023). It is the first collaboration of this nature between two large arts institutions in India and Bangladesh. Invested in the generative space of orality built through the telling and retelling of stories, VSF gently holds and hosts the figure of the child and childhood play as a stage.

Some of the participating artists whose works will be featured in the exhibition are Ade Dianita and Aditya Novali, Ahmet Ogut, Nidhi Khurana, Devi Prasad, Benodebehari Mukherjee, Simon Fujiwara, Afra Eisma, Jani Ruscica, Jessy Razafimandimby, Rupali Gupte and Prasad Shetty, Anpu Varkey, Afrah Shafiq, and Yasmin Jahan Nupur.

When: July 4 – September 20

Where: Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, No. 145, DLF South Court Mall Saket, Saket District Centre, Saket
