The World Jazz Festival is set to take Delhi by storm in its third edition on April 21. The festival will reach the national capital after Mumbai and will travel three more cities, including Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad.

The artists in lineup are New York Round Midnight Orchestra feat. Deborah Carter and Baer Traa Koh Mr Saxman – Sound of Siam feat. Pui Duangpon

The jazz scene in India is also one that has undergone a bit of a renaissance over many years, peppered with experiments in fusing Indian music with jazz – giving rise to Indo-Jazz music – another distinct genre in itself.

Jazz, a compelling genre with a rich history, is a form of music that has caught the imaginative fancy of many a musician and connoisseurs across the world. Its improvisational and experimental nature, coupled with intricate and complex melodic and rhythmic patterns, makes it a highly evolved form of music – built on the immense contribution of several notable legends.

Banyan Tree’s World Jazz Festival was launched in 2020, with the aim of contributing to and enriching the Jazz scene in India. Presenting exemplary jazz music and world music in tandem, this festival is in collaboration with the Amersfoort Jazz Festival from The Netherlands.

When: 7:00pm; April 21
Where: Kamani Auditorium, Copernicus Marg, Janpath, Mandi House, Delhi
