Bamboo Oasis Cafe: A tranquil escape with lavish meals in nature’s lap

Nestled in the heart of Baansera Park, across from the Sarai Kale Khan Bus Terminal, the newly opened Bamboo Oasis cafe is surrounded by lush greenery, providing a refreshing escape from the city’s hustle.

The cafe’s design complements the park’s eco-friendly ethos, incorporating sustainable materials and green design principles. It offers indoor seating for up to 100 guests. Previously, the Delhi Development Authority restored two water bodies in the park, with a musical fountain enhancing one of them.

“We are maintaining the park, and with the cafe’s launch, Delhiites have more recreational options right in the city’s centre,” a DDA official said.

Visitors can enter the park for a fee of Rs 50, while children under 10 and schoolchildren accompanied by adults can enjoy free entry. “Visitors can now enjoy good food while having ample space to sit, relax, and watch the musical fountain,” Vivek, the café’s manager said.

He added, “It’s new, so the footfall isn’t very high yet. But we expect more people once the weather improves especially, during evenings when the musical fountain is in action.”

The cafe’s ambience complements its eco-friendly design, with recycled bamboo fibre used for wall décor. “Though we can’t claim it’s fully eco friendly, we’ve done our best to stay true to the bamboo and sustainability theme,” Vivek explained.

Set away from the city’s hustle and bustle, the café offers a tranquil experience with its greenery and peaceful surroundings. Visitors can enjoy their meals in a serene, countryside-like atmosphere, a rare escape from Delhi’s chaotic metro life. The glass walls around the cafe allow visitors to have a perfect view of the park, and the musical fountain in the evening adds a special touch, making it a must-see attraction in the capital.

Farm-fresh flavours and diverse cuisine

Vivek shared insights into the cafe’s carefully curated menu: “You can say it’s a menu for everyone. We’ve included dishes from Indian, Chinese, Italian, and other cuisines to keep the food interesting for all visitors. They can have pizza, noodles, seafood like prawns and fish—we have a wide variety of both vegetarian and non vegetarian options.”

For a more substantial meal, the melt-in-your-mouth Galouti Kebab served with Ulta Tawa Paratha is a highlight. Turkish food lovers will also find plenty to enjoy, from classic hummus and Batata Harra to Babaganoush and more.

Vivek emphasised, “All the ingredients we use come fresh from farms, and everything we use is organic.”

Cafe Bamboo Oasis is a must-visit destination, offering a refreshing and serene experience alongside a mouth-watering meal. The menu is thoughtfully crafted, and the ambience completes the experience. Though the prices may be slightly higher compared to what regular public park visitors might expect, the quality and atmosphere make it well worth the visit.
