A retreat with exceptional coffee and breakfast
For coffee enthusiasts, The Cottage Cafe offers a wide range of options, each cup brewed using the finest coffee beans with various milk choices to match every preference. Whether it’s a strong espresso or a creamy latte, the cafe caters to all tastes. It’s a place where every sip offers a moment of calm, perfectly complementing the tranquil ambience of the café
Beyond its coffee selection, The Cottage Cafe’s breakfast menu, crafted by chef Manish Kashyap, has become quite popular.
“Our breakfast menu is getting a lot of love; we have customers asking for breakfast platters even during lunch or dinner time,” General Manager Ashish Gupta told The Patriot.
His focus on fresh ingredients and creative twists on familiar dishes makes the breakfast offerings stand out.
One of the standout dishes is the Persian Shakshuka Skillet, featuring poached eggs nestled on a bed of spiced onion and tomato sauce. The combination of tangy and rich flavours, along with the silky texture of the eggs, makes it a comforting yet bold breakfast choice.
Another favourite is the Mushroom and Cheese Omelette, filled with cheddar cheese and sautéed mushrooms. This fluffy omelette offers a savoury and creamy bite, evoking the warmth of a home-cooked meal. It’s a dish that brings simplicity and elegance to the table, reminiscent of a classic recipe perfected over time.
For those who enjoy a bit of spice, the Gochujang Sloppy Joe is a must-try. This dish combines grilled chicken coated in tangy gochujang sauce, cheddar cheese, caramelised onions, and fresh lettuce, all nestled between soft buns. It’s a fusion of sweet, spicy, and savoury flavours that offers an adventurous yet comforting experience.
The menu also features the Peri Peri Chicken, a dish bursting with flavours. The peri peri-marinated chicken, paired with sundried tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, creates a delicious play of spicy and tangy notes. The heat from the peri peri sauce is balanced by the richness of the cheese, making each bite a delightful journey.
For a lunch choice, the Grilled Fish is good to go. Marinated in herbs, the fish is grilled to perfection, maintaining a delicate yet firm texture. It is served with sautéed vegetables, roasted potatoes, and a creamy olive tapenade sauce. This dish is perfect for those who enjoy a classic and subtle dining experience.

Ashish added, “It’s been three months since The Cottage Cafe opened. While there are many happening places around Connaught Place and Janpath, we wanted to provide a perfectly blissful, comfortable, and sober cafe experience for our visitors. The cosy ambience, curated with minimalistic colours—mainly black and white—is inspired by polo, the royal game.”
Patriot was invited by the Cottage Cafe for a visit. However, this is not a paid piece.
