The property is hosting the Lakhnawi Dastarkhwan Food Festival, running from September 6 to September 15.

With the theme Mezban Kadardan Khansam, this year’s festival is poised to take the guests on an immersive journey through the regal flavours and culinary traditions of Lucknow’s Nawabi heritage.

The ambience is meticulously crafted, with scenes inspired by iconic locations like the bustling Hazratganj Chowk, the majestic Qaisar Bagh Palace, and the vibrant Aminabad Food Street. The immersive experience even extends to Lucknow’s deep cinematic roots, with a recreated single-screen theatre setting.

At the entrance of the hotel, a man sells paan (betel nut), while next to him, an astrologer practices his craft, and another vendor sells bangles. This scene beautifully captures the spirit of communal harmony and evokes the lively feel of a traditional market. A mural also adorns the area, showcasing the city’s renowned street food, dance culture, music, and historic architecture.

SAVOUR NAWABI DELIGHTS

The heart of the festival lies in its opulent menu, featuring a tantalising array of Lucknow’s most beloved dishes, each crafted to perfection. At the forefront are the signature Galauti Kebabs, melt-in-your-mouth morsels that showcase the essence of Awadhi cooking. Equally compelling is the Murgh Awadhi Qorma, tender chicken simmered in a creamy, aromatic sauce, and the Gosht Nalli Qorma, a rich lamb curry that delivers depth and warmth in every bite. Vegetarian options such as Dal Gomti and Aloo Bukhara Kofta are just as indulgent, with balanced flavours and comforting textures.

To accompany the mains, guests can indulge in an array of traditional breads—Mughlai Parantha, Sheermal, Warqi Parantha, and the unique Ulta Tawa Parantha. These breads serve as the perfect vehicles to savour the curries and gravies, making each bite a harmonious blend of flavours.

Street food lovers are in for a treat with offerings like Tokri Chaat, a medley of crispy textures and tangy flavours, and Aloo Tikki Pani Ke Batashe, a delightful spin on the classic gol gappa. The Awadhi Biryani with Burani Raita holds its own as a fragrant, well-spiced dish that transports you to the bylanes of Lucknow.

Other must-try dishes include the rich and velvety Kathal Nehari (jackfruit slow-cooked in spices), the delicate Mahi Nawabi Tikka, and the exotic Dingri Dolma.

For dessert, the indulgent Shahi Tukda, creamy Badnam Kulfi, and the beloved Jalebis will satisfy any sweet tooth, ending the meal on a perfect note.

The festival theme—Mezban Kadardan Khansam—encapsulates the essence of Lucknow’s Nawabi ethos. Mezban represents the gracious host, Kadardan signifies a deep appreciation for culinary heritage, and Khansam celebrates the master chefs who bring these royal dishes to life.

Executive Chef Roushan Sharma brings this philosophy to the fore, recalling his own childhood experiences in Lucknow. “The cuisine of Lucknow is all about balance,” he explains. “Unlike the bold, intense flavours of Delhi, Awadhi food is subtle yet complex, exemplified by dishes like Galauti Kebabs. We wanted to bring these nuances to life for our guests.”
