In the first week of April, Delhiites witnessed a group art exhibition featuring 29 artists from various walks of life. The exhibition, titled ‘CONFLUENCE 23’, was organised by Welham Old Boys Society (WOBS) and was aimed at promoting art and culture.

It showcased works by professional artists, photographers, architects, fashion designers, interior designers, product designers, graphic designers, an educationalist, an art therapist, a dancer, and even a practicing doctor. The diverse collection of artworks highlighted the skill and potential of these talented artists.

The concluding day of the exhibition was particularly eventful, with a memorable interactive walkthrough conducted by Senior Artist Professor Rajeev Lochan and his wife Yuriko Lochan. The evening also saw an interactive session by renowned artist Jatin Das, who shared over 125 of his creations executed over 60 years of his illustrious career.

Another highlight of the day was the film screening of Oscar qualified and National Award-winning film SONSI and preview of yet to be released film SHERA presented by Actor, Producer, Vikas Kumar.

The exhibition received high praise from attendees, with Senior Artist Professor Rajeev Lochan stating, “CONFLUENCE 23 is a sincere effort by WOBS, would love to see the story grow further.”

Artist  Das also commended the exhibition, saying, “it’s an interesting exhibition despite the fact that these artists are not well known yet. They are skilled and they have very good potential.”

Rohit Jaiswal, President of WOBS told Patriot that CONFLUENCE 23 would become a recurring annual event, helping to promote art and culture in the city.

“CONFLUENCE 23 was an effort to promote our alumni who are pursuing creative pursuits like art and other fields. The exhibition showcased creative works not only from our alumni, but also from other institutions like Welham Girls’ School, Doon School, Lawrence School, and Delhi College,” said Jaiswal.

An artist from Bihar, Divyam Raghunath, who participated in the exhibition, told Patriot, “The artwork I presented at the exhibition was based on the beauty and diversity of India and its landscapes. I captured pictures of art installations during my travels, both within and outside of India, and used them as a canvas to paint and express my imagination. That was the concept behind my presentation at the event.”
