Samsung has officially launched its latest mid-range offering, the Galaxy M56 5G, in India. Available now for purchase, the smartphone was unveiled last week as the newest addition to the company’s popular M-series. Priced at under Rs 25,000, the Galaxy M56 5G stands out as the slimmest handset in its price segment, measuring just 7.2mm in thickness and weighing 180 grams.

Powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1480 chipset, the device offers enhanced thermal efficiency thanks to a larger vapour chamber compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy M55. Although the processor is slightly less powerful than the Exynos 1580 found in the Galaxy A56, it still delivers capable performance for everyday use.

The Galaxy M56 features a 6.74-inch Super AMOLED+ display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung claims the panel is 33% brighter and has 36% thinner bezels than the previous model. Both the front screen and rear panel are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+ for added durability.

In terms of camera capabilities, the device boasts a triple rear camera setup housed in Samsung’s signature elliptical module. This includes a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, users get a 12MP HDR selfie camera. The Galaxy M56 also benefits from Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite, offering features like Object Eraser, Image Clipper, and Edit Suggestions.

The phone comes in two storage variants—128GB and 256GB—both paired with 8GB of RAM. It supports dual SIM functionality and includes a USB Type-C (USB 2.0) port. Running on One UI 7 based on Android 15, the Galaxy M56 is eligible for six years of software updates and security patches, in line with Samsung’s latest update policy.

Rounding out its hardware, the handset is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. However, it does miss out on features such as NFC and an official IP rating for water and dust resistance.
