Tecno has announced that its upcoming smartphone, the Pova Slim 5G, will launch in India on September 4 at 12 noon. The company is promoting it as the “world’s slimmest 3D curved display 5G smartphone.”

The device is expected to measure just 5.75mm in thickness while packing a 5,200mAh battery—a combination that would put it among the slimmest smartphones currently available. The timing of the launch is notable, as it comes just days before Apple is set to unveil its iPhone 17 Air, rumoured to be even slimmer at around 5.5mm.

Tecno had earlier previewed a similar concept device, the Tecno Spark Slim, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The upcoming Pova Slim 5G appears to share design cues with that concept, suggesting it is now ready for commercial rollout in India.

Expected features

The Tecno Pova Slim 5G could feature a 6.78-inch OLED display with up to 144Hz refresh rate. Despite its sleek profile, it is tipped to carry a sizeable 5,200mAh battery. On the camera front, the phone may come with a 50MP primary sensor, though details of the other sensors are yet to be revealed.

Leaked images show a curved white frame with a horizontal camera bar housing dual cameras, an LED flash, and a distinctive white “Dynamic Mood Light.” This LED strip is expected to light up for calls, notifications, and other alerts.

On the software side, the Pova Slim 5G will likely run HiOS 15 based on Android 15, with AI-driven features such as the Ella AI assistant, Circle to Search, and an AI writing tool.
