
RK Shishir, from IIT Bombay zone, is this year’s top performer on the Common Rank List (CRL) for the JEE (Advanced) 2022 exam. He scored 314 out of 360 score. Tanishka Kabra of IIT Delhi zone, who received a CRL of 16, is the highest-ranked female candidate. She scored 277 out of 360. As per The Indian Express, a total of 160038 applicants registered, and of those, 155538 showed up for both papers; 40712 qualified applicants.
On 28 August, the exam was administered in two shifts: the morning shift ran from 9 am to 12 pm, and the afternoon session began at 2:30 pm and ended at 5:30 pm. At 10 am on 1 September, candidates were granted access to a copy of their responses, which they could then download from the JEE Advanced website, jeeadv.ac.in. Following that, on September 3, the tentative answer keys were made available, and applicants had until September 4 at 5 p.m. to file objections.
As per the data analyzed by The Indian Express of the exam results from 2016 to 2020, IIT-Bombay, IIT-Delhi, and IIT-Kanpur have consistently maintained their positions as the most popular institutions among the top 1,000 rank holders of the Joint Entrance Examination JEE Advanced.
IIT-Bombay is the most coveted of the three engineering schools among outstanding students. The second most favoured institution is IIT-Delhi, followed by IIT-Kanpur. It’s interesting to note that the pecking order differs slightly in the annual national ranking of higher education institutions (NIRF), which is published by the Education Ministry. IIT-Madras is the top-ranked IIT, followed by IIT-Delhi and IIT-Bombay.
Computer Science from IIT Bombay remains the popular choice among students.
