Delhi played host to the Ekatva Festival, an event that seamlessly blended fun with the spirit of compassion and a cruelty-free lifestyle. It took place at the lawns of the Sunder Nursery, Nizamuddin on Sunday.
At the core of the Ekatva Vegan Festival was a commitment to conscious living. Attendees were treated to an array of plant-based delights that showcased the richness and diversity of vegan cuisine.
From delectable vegan desserts to innovative plant-based dishes, the festival’s food stalls left taste-buds tingling while highlighting the “ethical” and environmental benefits of a vegan lifestyle.
Experts in the field engaged audiences in discussions on sustainable living, ethical choices, and the profound interconnectedness between our dietary choices and the well-being of animals and environment.
“This festival embodies our commitment to a greener, more compassionate future,” said Palak Mehta, CEO and Founder of Vegan First, the company which launched the festival.
Platform for vegan businesses
Cultural performances at the Ekatva Vegan Festival mirrored the ethos of compassion and unity.
A significant aspect of the festival was its role as a platform for vegan businesses, local producers, and ethical brands. Vendors offered a wide range of cruelty-free products, from clothing and accessories to skincare and household items. This marketplace not only supported the burgeoning vegan economy but also allowed attendees to make mindful choices in their everyday lives.
The vendors, passionate about their products, shared stories and insights that deepened one’s understanding of the positive impact of conscious consumer choices.
“In a city that often bustles with diverse culinary experiences, the Ekatva Vegan Festival stood out as a trailblazer, proving that compassionate choices can be both delicious and fulfilling,” said Anushka, a customer waiting to collect her waffles at the ‘Karamele’ stall.
Visitors also grooved to the live performances of singers Akshita Mengi and Ishan Krishnan.
“As I explored the marketplace, I discovered a treasure trove of vegan products—from clothing and accessories to skincare and household items. Each purchase feels like a small contribution to a more ethical and sustainable way of living. The vendors shared stories as well as insights that deepened my appreciation of the positive impact of conscious consumer choices,” says Devesh, another visitor.
