In a celebration of the profound connection between humans and nature, an art exhibition titled Botanical Tapestry: Threads of Nature is set to grace Gallery No.5 Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi.
Artist, educator, and art critic, Gunjan Shrivastava, is the mind behind this display, inviting art connoisseurs and nature enthusiasts to delve into the intricate world of flowers.
Scheduled to commence on October 28, 2023, and concluding on November 3, 2023, this exhibition promises to be a profound exploration of the multifaceted roles that flowers play in the human experience.
According to organisers, the exhibition resonates with themes ranging from love and grief to birth, death, celebration, and spirituality.
It aims to unravel the intricate tapestry woven by these botanical wonders, emphasising their remarkable ability to connect with our deepest emotions and life experiences, they said.
Gunjan Shrivastava, an artist and Co-founder of the You Lead India Foundation, shared her artistic vision and told Patriot that “Threads are my chosen medium, their symbolism representing the acts of mending, repairing, and connecting. Through the fusion of cyanotype and hand embroidery, I deliberately engage in a slow, intentional artistic process.”
“Each creation unfolds as a captivating story, inspired by spontaneous imperfections that I wholeheartedly embrace. My connection with flowers has always been profound, akin to cherished memories tucked away in books and diaries,” she said.
