A 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly impersonating a pilot of an airline at IGI Airport, police said on Friday.
According to authorities, the suspect was spotted wearing an airline uniform in the Metro Skywalk area on Thursday.
“He presented himself as a pilot to CISF personnel, displaying an ID card around his neck. Suspicion arose, leading to his identification as Sangeet Singh from Noida,” stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI Airport) Usha Rangnani.
Further investigations revealed Singh had forged the ID using an online application and purchased the uniform accessories in Dwarka, New Delhi.
Police discovered Singh had completed a one-year course in Aviation Hospitality in Mumbai in 2020, misleading friends and family about his profession.
Singh was arrested, and a case was registered against him. Further investigation is ongoing. (With inputs from PTI)
