Delhi Chief Minister Atishi announced extension of Delhi Electric policy among other Cabinet decisions

Chief Minister Atishi announced several cabinet decisions on Thursday, including the extension of the Delhi Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy until March 31, 2025.

Speaking at a press conference, she highlighted that in response to the deteriorating air quality, the Delhi cabinet has resolved to extend the electric vehicle policy while reinstating subsidies and road tax exemptions for electric vehicles, effective from January 1, 2024.

“Electric vehicles purchased on or after January 1, 2024, will receive subsidies and road tax exemptions, which had been suspended when the BJP sent Arvind Kejriwal to jail,” Atishi stated.

In another announcement, the chief minister revealed that the Delhi government has sanctioned a grant of Rs 17 crore to the Delhi Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation Limited (DSFDC) for clearing pending salaries of its employees.

Additionally, Atishi introduced a four-year bachelor’s degree program in optometry to be offered at a new wing of the Guru Nanak Eye Centre.
