Kajol-starrer ‘Maa’ crosses Rs 50 crore mark worldwide

“Maa”, a mythological horror film featuring Bollywood star Kajol in the lead role, has earned over Rs 50 crore gross at the worldwide box office, the makers announced on Saturday.

Directed by Vishal Furia, best known the projects such as “Lapachhapi”, “Criminal Justice” and “Chhori”, the film is written by Saiwyn Quadras and released in theatres worldwide on June 27.

Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, the film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak.

The makers shared the box office numbers on the X handle. It had the film’s poster with the breakdown of the collection.

The film’s collection at the domestic box office nett is Rs 38.30 crore and the gross collection is Rs 45.19 crore. It got Rs 6.45 crore overseas.

The total worldwide box office collection of the film stands at Rs 51.64 crore.

“Maa’s rage knows no bounds and so does its box-office collections. #MaaTheFilm in cinemas Now,” read the caption of the post.

The film narrates the story of a mother who becomes Goddess Kali to end a demonic curse rooted in fear, blood, and betrayal.

It also stars Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma and Ronit Roy in pivotal roles.

Sonam Bajwa wraps ‘Baaghi 4’ shoot: Journey stitched together with fire and faith

Punjabi actor Sonam Bajwa, who made her Hindi debut this year, has completed shooting for her next film “Baaghi 4”. The upcoming film is the fourth installment of the “Baaghi” franchise and also stars Tiger Shroff, Harnaaz Sandhu, and Sanjay Dutt. Directed by A Harsha, known for “Bhajarangi” and “Vajrakaya”, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on September 5.

The 35-year-old actor shared the news with a post on her Instagram handle on Friday evening, which featured her holding the clapperboard. “And just like that, it’s a wrap. My second Hindi film, a journey stitched together with fire and faith,” she wrote in the caption.
