Delhi is expected to experience strong surface winds and a generally cloudy sky on Friday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). While no rainfall has been reported in the national capital in the past 24 hours, the weather is likely to remain breezy and overcast throughout the day.
The minimum temperature recorded early Friday morning was 24.3 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degrees Celsius, making it a relatively warm day despite the cloud cover. The IMD forecast indicates that the cloudy skies and winds may offer some respite from the otherwise rising September temperatures.

Humidity levels remained high in the morning, with the relative humidity recorded at 74 percent at 8:30 a.m. Such levels may contribute to a slightly muggy feeling, especially during the warmer parts of the day.
In terms of air quality, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) at 112 at 8:00 a.m. This places the air quality in the “moderate” category. For context, the AQI is categorized as follows: 0–50 is considered “good,” 51–100 “satisfactory,” 101–200 “moderate,” 201–300 “poor,” 301–400 “very poor,” and 401–500 falls under the “severe” category.
Although the AQI is not in the hazardous zone, sensitive groups such as children, the elderly, or those with respiratory conditions may still experience mild discomfort. With no rainfall to help settle dust and pollutants, air quality could fluctuate depending on wind patterns throughout the day.
