The Korean Wave swept through the Capital on Friday as the fourth edition of Rang De Korea brought the sights, sounds, and spirit of Seoul to Delhi’s Nexus Select Citywalk Plaza. Organised by the Korean Cultural Centre India, the festival drew thousands of Hallyu fans eager to experience Korean music, food, and art.
The event, inaugurated by Lee Seong-ho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India, has grown into one of the biggest celebrations of Korean culture in the country since its launch in 2022. This year’s edition featured high-energy performances from the Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team, fusion music group S-Flava, and a traditional dance troupe from Korea.
The highlight of the evening was the much-anticipated performance by K-pop boyband Younite, whose members set the stage ablaze with popular numbers such as Bomba and Rock Steady. The crowd erupted in cheers as the group performed a string of their hits including One+Won, Poco Loco, Pump Your Sneakers, Geekin’, and Taste. Earlier in the day, the band also met fans in a special interaction session.
Adding to the festival’s immersive experience were five themed ‘Seoul Street’ zones that recreated some of the city’s most iconic attractions. Visitors explored the lively Myeong-dong shopping streets, complete with neon lights and beauty brands, and sampled authentic Korean snacks at the Jongno Food Alley setup.
“I would like to express my gratitude to Delhiites who enjoy and support Korean culture,” said Hwang Il Yong, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre India. “Korean culture has now become a mainstream phenomenon among India’s young generation, with growing interest in K-beauty and K-food. Through this festival, we hope to further strengthen Korea-India cultural exchange and deepen mutual friendship.”
With its mix of music, dance, food, and lifestyle experiences, Rang De Korea has become a fixture in Delhi’s cultural calendar—reflecting the growing fascination with all things Korean among Indian youth.
