Light rain likely in city

Delhi records a minimum temperature of 19.4°C as light rain is forecast, with scattered showers across the city and air quality remaining in the ‘moderate’ category

The city recorded a minimum temperature of 19.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, with the weather office predicting light rain.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 33 degrees Celsius.

Isolated rainfall was recorded in various areas of the city since Monday with the 24-hour cumulative rain till 08:30 am standing at 0.5 mm at Safdarjung, 0.2 mm at Palam, 0.7 mm at Lodhi Road, 0.2 mm at Ridge and 0.6 mm at Ayanagar.

Station-wise data showed that the minimum temperature at Palam was 19.6 degrees Celsius, the highest among the stations, about 1.9 notches above normal.

Lodhi Road recorded a minimum of 18 degrees Celsius, 2 notches above normal, while the Ridge station logged 18.4 degrees Celsius, 1.2 notches below normal. Ayanagar recorded a minimum of 18.6 degrees Celsius, 0.4 notches above normal.

On the air quality front, the AQI stood at 189 in the ‘moderate’ category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

According to CPCB standards, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
