Delhi LG Taranjit Singh Sandhu, during a visit to Kamla Nagar market, urged women to email their grievances with contact details, promising direct follow-up and engagement with officials to address civic concerns

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Tuesday urged women to send their grievances through email with contact details, assuring them of follow-up action, during a visit to the Kamla Nagar market.

Interacting with locals in the north Delhi market, the LG said he had noted down concerns raised by several women and requested them to send a one-page email mentioning their name and contact number so that authorities could reach out to them directly.

He said feedback would be reviewed first, following which the complainants would be contacted and meetings would be held with the concerned officials to address the issues.

Emphasising collective responsibility, Sandhu said joint efforts are required to improve Delhi, the national capital, and there was “no choice” in ensuring better civic conditions.

Referring to the broader vision of a developed India, he said Delhi had a crucial role to play and authorities must actively engage with residents to understand and resolve their problems.

During the visit, Sandhu also recalled his student days, saying he used to frequent Kamla Nagar, also known to him as Knags. He said he had visited the market to buy a belt and sample local food but ended up interacting with residents who shared both appreciation and complaints.

He said his effort was to directly engage with people, understand their concerns and do his best to resolve them.
